Argiculture-Forestry Projects

Just a reminder of what Dr. Val has asked me to do. My November trip will concentrate on basic botany/horticulture issues and drip irrigation during week two (because it will take me from Monday the 9th to Friday to reach Moroto). During week three I will be evaluating the fledgling herbal nursery and recommending appropriate management practices to improve nursery production. Village farming leaders will receive hands on training culminating with installation of several drip irrigation gardens. For more information on the irrigation system we will be using visit www.chapinlivingwaters.org . One of my home group members, Barbara Jones, is coordinating the prayer effort. If you would like to participate you can contact her at kbjones47@mac.com

Another Blog?

Praying for our friend Dr Val last night after our meeting was a sacred moment for many of us. It was a time for all of us to express....this is what we want to be involved in, this is what God has put on our hearts, and we want to do this well. We want to serve the ministry of CLIDE in their efforts to bring the wholeness of the Gospel to the people of Karamoja. And that is how CAT has come to be...(CLIDE Assistance Team).... So here we are, with a blog, a forum, where we can post, write, share and update one another of what we are doing, what is happening and how all of this is coming together. Hopefully this will work....if not, well, then the blog will just fold...but together we will give it a try. Welcome everyone to the Karamoja Times!
